Official Transcript Submission
The application process requires the submission of all official transcripts, which includes all official transcripts from every college, university, military academic institution, seminary, or divinity school previously attended, even if the enrollment resulted in drops or withdrawals, and regardless of whether a degree was completed. No transcript issued to a student will be accepted.
Within the application for admission, applicants will be asked to authorize Heritage Christian University (HCU) to submit transcript requests on their behalf using the Third Party Transcript Ordering Service (“Service”) of the National Student Clearinghouse. The processing fee for each transcript order fulfilled by the Service on the applicant’s behalf will be charged to their student account once they enroll for credit.
Where electronic submission is not available, the applicant must arrange for those official transcripts to be sent directly to HCU from the academic institution. If needed, applicants can use the Transcript Request Form to request hardcopy transcripts.
Personal References
The applicant must submit the names of three people within the application to use as personal references. References will be asked to address the applicant’s character and suitability for graduate work. References cannot be related to the applicant by blood or marriage, and must have known the applicant for three or more years. HCU prefers that your recommenders include a minister, church elder or leader, a school official, or a
business person.
Personal Statement
Applicants must submit, as a component of the online application, a personal statement highlighting how graduate studies will affect their goals and plans for ministry.
GRE or MAT Scores
Applicants to the Master of Arts and Master of Ministry programs will submit official scores from either the Graduate Records Examination (GRE) or the Miller Analogies Test (MAT). The recipient code for HCU is 0805. The examination must have been completed within the last five years. Applicants to the MDiv program, and all those who hold a master’s degree or higher, are exempt from submitting test scores.
Background Check
All applicants seeking admission to Heritage Christian University will be required to authorize HCU and its agents/representatives to obtain a comprehensive review of their background. HCU will not complete the application review for acceptance until the background check information is received and deemed acceptable.
HCU Scholarship Application
