Melanie & Moises PinedoUndergraduate and Dual Enrollment Distance Learning Students

The Distance Learning Program has allowed me to study around my work schedule and has allowed Melanie (my daughter) to study while working and finishing high school. Online flexibility allows you to connect and interact with your class when you need it, work at your own pace and schedule, and “attend” class—even with your dad! This is our third semester, and HCU has already been a great blessing to our lives and works with the church. HCU is a great choice for anyone who wants to learn more about the Bible and grow more in the Lord!

Maddie GirtsBachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies Student

Currently, I am pursuing my Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies, so I can write children's bible class materials and curriculum for the church. I chose Heritage for my education because I knew the school, as a community, would support me not only through my academic career but also when the hardships of life come. I believe HCU is a community of believers with one main goal in mind: to support fellow believers in ministry, through furthering God's Kingdom. The community here gives me hope for the future of the Lord's church.

Will SharpMaster of Divinity Alumnus

HCU has instilled in me the value of Christian education and the focus of evangelism. Through the education that I received at Heritage, it has prepared me to communicate effectively the power of the Holy Scriptures and the value of grounded faith. As a chaplain, I am surrounded by soldiers and leaders that seek guidance and understanding. HCU and its faculty prepared me to have those discussions with military personnel who are searching for spiritual wellbeing in their lives.

Zaquan KempAssociate of Arts Student

I decided to pursue ministry because I felt that it was calling to me and that God wanted me to pursue this career to further my faith and share His light. I chose HCU because of the friendliness of the faculty and staff; everyone treats each other like a family and thinks of me as a brother and not a number.

David BellMaster of Ministry Student

Heritage has always been commited to educating future preachers for work in the brotherhood. It is this interest in education and further learning which prompted me to become a student myself. The graduate program at HCU seemed straightforward, setting out a plan very much addressing my ambitions for further and deeper study of the scriptures. Seeing the progress and success of students over the years is proof of the quality of education that HCU affords.

Jake LeonardBachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies Alumnus

One of the things I valued most about HCU is the fact that I was not taught what to believe. Rather, with each class, the professors gave me the tools to dig into the Scriptures myself and develop my own faith with the Lord. I was not just taught from the Bible, but I was taught how to study the Word on my own. I am currently serving as a sheriff deputy. And while this may not be a paid ministry job, I have encountered so many opportunities to use my ministering skills to people I never would have had before, whether it be encouraging anyone I encounter on the streets or praying with inmates at the local detention center. I'm often around people at some of the lowest points of their lives, and I am thankful to HCU for their part in equipping me to point anyone in need to God's love.
