Ted Douglas Burleson was born in Haleyville, Alabama. His wife is Karen Semore Burleson. They have two sons Doug (Baton Rouge, LA) and David (Spring Hill, TN). Ted has been preaching for 31 years and has served congregations in Duck River, TN; Lawrenceburg, TN; Old Hickory, TN; Columbia, TN; Jasper, AL; and began his work with the Hamilton congregation in May 2006.

Ted has an AA from Freed-Hardeman University, 1982, a BA from Lipscomb University, 1990, a Master of Ministry from Freed-Hardeman University, 1993, a Master of Divinity from Lipscomb University, 2000, and a Doctor of Ministry from Harding University Graduate School of Religion, 2004. He began teaching part-time at HCU in 2005. His favorite classes to teach are Marriage and the Home, The Gospels, and New Testament Survey.
