Jamie Cox was born in Lewisburg, Tennessee. She is a 1985 graduate of Freed-Hardeman University receiving a B.A. She received the M.L.S. from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1990. She has served as librarian since 1992 and has full faculty status.

The Overton Memorial Library has grown to over 60,000 books under Jamie's management and continues to grow monthly.
