Overton Memorial Library strives to have the materials needed
by students of Heritage Christian University. In the case where
OML does not have the material needed, the library will try
to obtain the material from other libraries. Only students,
staff, and faculty from Heritage Christian University may use
the interlibrary loan service.
Books, theses, dissertations, and journal articles can be requested
in accordance with copyright laws. Materials owned by OML and
currently in use cannot be obtained through interlibrary loans.
The patron will be charged a copy and postage fee for the material
loaned. The average time for an interlibrary loan to be processed
is two to three weeks. Loan periods are determined by the lending
library. The requestor will be responsible for late or lost
materials. Loaned materials are not renewable. Loaned materials
must be returned to the circulation desk, not placed in the
drop box. Please fill out the following form as complete as
possible. One form for each item requested.
NOTICE CONCERNING COPYRIGHT RESTRICTIONS
The Copyright Law of the United States (Title 17, United State
Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions
of copyright material.
Under conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives
are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction.
One of these specific conditions is that a photocopy or reproduction
is not to be "used for any purpose other than private study,
scholarship, or research." If a user makes a request for,
or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for the purposes
in excess of "fair use," that user may be liable for
copyright infringement.
This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying
order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve
violation of the copyright law.
