New Student Campaign Grant/ Campaign Academic Scholarship
New students taking 12 or more semester credit hours at HCU are awarded a grant for $1000 upon fulfillment of the required campaign criteria. Upon notification from the Director of Christian Service that all campaign requirements have been successfully completed, the business office will apply this grant to the student’s account. In each subsequent semester, this grant will be awarded as a campaign academic scholarship provided the student maintains a semester GPA of 3.00 or higher, enrolls for 12 credit hours,**and fulfills all campaign requirements for the current year.
New Student Distance Learning Grant/ Distance Learning Academic Scholarship
New students who are true distance learners (live approximately 150 miles from the HCU campus) and who enroll for 6 credit hours**during their first semester are awarded a grant of $500.00. In each subsequent semester, this grant will be awarded as a distance learning academic scholarship provided the student maintains a semester GPA of 2.75 or higher, enrolls for 6 credit hours at HCU and maintains distance learning status as indicated above.
Honors Scholarship
Heritage Christian students having the highest grade point average in the freshman, sophomore, and junior classes each year, who are earning a minimum of 24 credit hours for the year, are awarded a scholarship of $100. You may receive this scholarship along with another.
Spouse of Full-time Degree Seeking Student or Full-time Preacher Scholarship
Spouse of a full-time degree seeking HCU student or a full-time preacher* is awarded a scholarship to cover one-half of all tuition. The scholarship for the spouse of a full-time degree seeking HCU student may continue for one year after his or her spouse graduates. (Excludes all other scholarships on this form except honors scholarship.)
Dependent children of full-time preacher*, Christian School Administrator*or Faculty member* Scholarship (*as determined by HCU)
Dependent children of a full-time preacher, Christian school administrator or faculty member are awarded a scholarship of one-half tuition for four consecutive years of enrollment. (Excludes all other scholarships on this form except honors scholarship.)
Full-Time Youth Minister* Scholarship (*as determined by HCU)
A full-time youth minister* is awarded a scholarship of one-half tuition for four consecutive years of enrollment. Student must maintain a semester GPA of 2.75 or higher to continue to receive this award. (Excludes all other scholarships on this form except honors scholarship.)
Lads to Leaders/Leaderettes Scholarship (No more than two years from high school graduation)
Up to a one half-tuition scholarship is awarded to active participants in the Lads to Leaders/Leaderettes program for four consecutive years of enrollment. L2L Scholarships are subject to university policies and guidelines, and will be awarded based on a résumé of participation and accomplishments submitted to the HCU Scholarship Committee. (An award of ½ tuition scholarship will exclude all other scholarships on this form except honors scholarship.)
High School Honors Scholarship (No more than two years from high school graduation)
High school Valedictorian or Salutatorian recipients who enroll for at least 12 credit hours** are awarded a scholarship of one-half tuition for four consecutive years of enrollment. An official high school transcript or an official honors award certificate must be submitted for verification. (Excludes all other scholarships on this form except honors scholarship).
Graduate On-Campus Scholarship
All graduate classes taken on-campus by graduate students who are accepted are eligible to receive 25% off tuition. This applies to 3, 6, or 9 hours per semester (9 hours is considered full-time. To maintain the scholarship, the student must maintain a GPA of 3.00. If a student drops below a 3.00, the scholarship is rescinded for the next semester, or until the 3.00 GPA is once again attained.
Ruby C. Waller Estate Scholarship
Must be Full Time, majoring in Bible, good academic standing, demonstrate Christian integrity and leadership, studying to be a full-time preacher (youth ministry excluded) Scholarship awards up to 50% of school related expenses: tuition and fees, classroom materials, housing, and meal plan.
Van Dyke Memorial Scholarship
Grant of $100 per month based on need.
SGA Officers Scholarship
A grant of $200 per semester is awarded to the SGA President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer. SGA officers must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.75.
Irvin Scholarship
This scholarship was established in memory of Archie Lee and James Milton Irvin to enable students of the Bible to better equip them to serve in the Lord’s Kingdom. Amounts of the scholarship vary from semester to semester.
Stanley and Anna Brewer Bible Scholarship
Must be a full Time student, majoring in Bible, maintain an overall “B” average, demonstrate Christian integrity and leadership, studying to be a full time preacher (youth ministry excluded. Scholarship amounts vary from year to year.
Oglesby Foundation Scholarship
Scholarships from the Oglesby Foundation begin with an e-mail to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) requesting information about an Oglesby Foundation Scholarship. Mr. Davenport will reply with information and an online scholarship application form.
Tuscumbia Church of Christ Scholarship
Scholarship is designed primarily for a student from the Tuscumbia Church of Christ. If the first condition is not met, the scholarship committee may award this scholarship to another recipient.
North Highland Church of Christ Scholarship
Scholarship is designed primarily for a student from the North Highland Church of Christ. If the first condition is not met, the scholarship committee may award this scholarship to another recipient.
Portland Scholarship
Scholarship award is $100 per month. Recipients will be required to write progress update letters to scholarship provider.
Pembroke Scholarship
Scholarship is primarily for a student from around the Pembroke, KY area. If the first condition is not met, the scholarship committee may award this scholarship to another recipient.
Paula B. Allen Scholarship
Recipient must be a single student, must maintain a 3.0 GPA, must not be on academic probation, and must reside on campus. Maximum award amount is $1000.
