International Students
If you are in the United States on an F1 or F2 student visa only, or on a J1 or J2 exchange visitor visa only, you are not eligible to receive U.S. Federal Aid.You must be one of the following to receive U. S. federal aid.
• U. S. citizen
• U. S. national (includes natives of American Samoa or Swain's Island)
• "Refugee"
• "Asylum Granted"
• "Indefinite Parole" and/or "Humanitarian Parole"
• "Cuban-Haitian Entrant, Status Pending"
• "Conditional Entrant" (valid only if issued before April 1, 1980)
• Other eligible non-citizen with a Temporary Resident Card (I-68)
You may also be eligible based on the Family Unity Status category with an approved I-797 (Voluntary Departure and Immigration Petition). If you have only a Notice of Approval to Apply for Permanent Residence (I-171 or I-464), you are not eligible. Citizens of the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of the Marshall Islands and Palau are generally eligible.
Heritage Christian University Foreign Student Scholarship
Foreign students are eligible for certain forms of assistance through the University. Heritage Christian University offers a Foreign Student Scholarship to International students who meet all criteria listed below. If you believe that you meet the following criteria, please contact the Office of Financial Aid to request a Foreign Student Scholarship application for consideration.
The scholarship provides the following:
Tuition: minimum 12 hours and no more than 15 hours per semester. You must pay for anything in excess of fifteen hours per semester.
REQUIREMENTS/STIPULATIONS/CONDITIONS:
1. You must be enrolled half-time for summer classes unless you are returning to your home country for the summer. Half time is 6 credit hours.
2. You must have a sponsoring congregation and you must be under the oversight of a local eldership/congregation.
3. Single students are required to live in campus dormitories/housing while in school and receiving the scholarship.
4. You are required to validate funds for university fees and reasonable living expenses above the tuition (reasonable is no less than $1350 per month per semester for a single student and no less than $2150 per month per semester for a married student). We must have letters from either congregations or individuals with addresses and phone numbers to validate the amount. All monies must be sent directly to Heritage Christian University.
5. You must abide by all student rules and regulations as outlined in the student handbook, including:
• You must maintain a 2.75 GPA each semester.
• All student debt must be paid prior to taking final exams each semester.
