Dr. Bagents serves as Vice President for Academic Affairs. He teaches graduate courses in ministry and undergraduate courses in Old Testament, New Testament, ministry, counseling, and church leadership. He serves as an elder and associate minister with the Mars Hill Church of Christ in Florence. His wife, Laura, teaches language arts for Florence City Schools.  Their son, John, works in financial management in Ventura, CA. Their son, Allen, passed away in 2010.

Missions and Ministry

Co-founder of and counselor with the Alpha Center, a Christian counseling center (2001-2017). Ongoing work in individual and marital/family counseling.

Mission teaching in South Africa (2018, 2015, 2012, 2009, 2006), Namibia (2009, 2006), Albania (1996, 1989), and Jamaica (1979).

Palliative Care Chaplaincy with Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital, then North Alabama Medical Center (2009-present).

Guest lecturer in Nigerian Christian Bible College and West Nigeria Christian College (2009, 2005, 2003, and 2002).
