David
Warren is an Associate Professor of Biblical Literature
at Heritage Christian. He teaches in both the graduate and
undergraduate programs. Though born in Detroit, he was raised
in Owensboro, Kentucky. The preacher at the Parrish Avenue
church of Christ, Raymond Fulkerson baptized him into Christ
on August 12, 1973. This was the home congregation of the
late Harold Bellamy, who served for several years as the
Vice-President of Heritage Christian University.
He holds an A.A. in Bible from Freed-Hardeman University,
1978; a B.A. in Bible from Freed-Hardeman University, 1978;
a M.Th. in Bible from Harding University Graduate School
of Religion, 1983; a Th.M. in New Testament from Harvard
University Divinity School, 1993; and a Th.D. in New Testament
from Harvard University Divinity School, 2001.
While a student at Harvard, David worked part-time for
seven years as a Teaching Fellow at the Divinity School,
where he taught courses in Greek, Theology, the New Testament,
and Theological German and French. He also served as the
school's language tutor in Hebrew, Greek, Latin, German,
and French. During this time Dr. Warren and his wife, Bonnie,
worked in a stateside mission effort, ministering full-time
for the North Shore church of Christ in Boston, MA, (August
1, 1993 - December 31, 2000).
